ANTINORI INVESTS IN CHILE: ACCORDING TO WINENEWS RUMORS THE HISTORIC TUSCAN WINERY HAS ACQUIRED THE ENTIRE PROPERTY OF HARAS DE PIRQUE WINERY, THE JEWEL OF CHILEAN WINEMAKING, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MATTE FAMILY SINCE 2003

Antinori has invested in Chile. According to WineNews rumors, the historic Tuscan company, led by President Albiera Antinori (www.antinori.it), has acquired the entire property of Haras de Pirque Winery, jewel of Chilean winemaking (100 hectares of vineyards in the valley of Maipo, one of the most famous territories in the country, and the winery famous for its horse-shoe shape).BR> Since 2003 the Antinori family has been in partnership with Eduardo A. Matte, a successful entrepreneur in the field of horse racing (Haras de Pirque is the name of one of the oldest purebred farms in the country, www.harasdepirque.com).
It has been a successful joint venture, marked especially by the creation of Albis wine, which is the union between one of the most well known international varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, and one of Chile's characteristic grapes, Carmenère.
The acquisition of Haras de Pirque's property, brings Antinori’s total properties to over 2.000 hectares, including over 1.500 in Tuscany and Umbria, more than 50 in Piedmont, 350 in Puglia, 60 in Franciacorta and another 600 around the world including Chile, USA, Hungary, Romania and Malta.
