THE VERDICTS OF "THE CHAMPAGNE & SPARKLING WINE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017" ARE IN AND TRENTODOC IS THE STAR WITH 19 GOLD MEDALS: FERRARI LEADS WITH 11 AND ROTARI-MEZZACORONA, 5. FRANCIACORTA, 10 PROSECCO DOCG, 7 AND ONE FOR OLTREPÒ PAVESE.

The verdicts of "Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships 2017" are in and Trentodoc is the star (19 gold medals, Ferrari leading with 11 and Rotari-Mezzacorona, 5), but also Franciacorta (10 medals, and double recognition for Ca 'del Bosco, Guido Berlucchi and Lantieri) and Prosecco DOCG (7, Nino Franco leading with 3), and one gold medal for Oltrepò Pavese. This is the most prestigious world championship dedicated to bubbles, led by expert Tom Stevenson, along with Masters of Wine Essi Avellan and Tony Jordan.
In all, 127 gold medals awarded (as well as 167 silver), and France in front of everyone, with 51, followed by Italy with 37.

The organizers (www.champagnesparklingwwc.co.uk) however, said the true revelation were the results of England (14 gold medals) and Australia (10), proving there is a global growth of sparkling wine in every corner of the earth. Another revelation were the first bottles from the Czech Republic, Luxembourg and Romania in the competition, all awarded with silver medals, or the gold medal for a Chinese sparkling wine, signed by Chandon China in the Ningxia region and also from Argentina, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain and the United States.
“The diffusion of sparkling wine knowledge and technology throughout the world signifies they can be produced in countries where bubbles were once undrinkable or not even produced”, commented Tom Stevenson. Special prizes, such as "The Best in Class", "National Champions" and "World Champions by Style", will be unveiled at the dinner in Vintners' Hall in London on September 14, 2017.
