FOLLOWING CHEF BOTTURA IN LONDON 2012, CHEF DAVIDE OLDANI HAS BEEN CHOSEN CHEF OF CASA ITALIA AT THE UPCOMING OLYMPICS IN RIO. THE OWNER OF D’O RESTAURANT SAID “YES” TO CONI’S CALL

“This invitation from Mr. Malagò means a great deal to me. As a boy, when I played soccer in the C2 category, I had a dream: to play at Italy '90”, said the Michelin starred Chef Davide Oldani in an interview with "Gazza Golosa", the food and wine insert of the journal La Gazzetta dello Sport (http: // goo. gl / BkZ15r).
He talked about his career and how excited he was when he received the invitation from CONI to be the Chef of Casa Italia. Oldani will be leaving for Brazil in less than a month, on July 28th, and he said that his kitchen for the Italian Olympic team would be "horizontal and ethical, bringing together Italy and Brazil. Chef Bottura wants to bring the experience of the Refectory to the favelas (the Ambrosiano Refectory in Milan, ed.) and I told him I am willing and available. If he calls me, I’ll be there. Who would I like to meet at the Olympics? Bolt, because speed fascinates me”.
Speed in the kitchen counts, said Oldani. “Speed in the kitchen is important, but it must be well thought out. Fast, but not good is useless and short-lived. We need to give the message that good food and sports go together. Man lives for food and movement. The rest is superfluous”.
